Thriller Conventions
The opening of a thriller tends to have minimum dialogue and leaves the view confused but still enticed. The mood and mise en scene is usually very dark and mysterious and unusual editing is also used. Thrillers draw you in into the story line and even in the mind of the main character which is normally the villain of the film. Lighting and sound is an important factor as it sets the atmosphere for the film and gives the viewer an idea of what emotion they shoud be feeling towards a character or a scen that is about to take place. Non-degetic and exaggerated diegetic sound enhances the tone and creates a scenario that the viewer automatically assumes is real.
