Blogging The Shoot

The first shoot was at my house when we filmed the first scene if her getting ready. Myself, Jade and Our actress Esther attended the shoot and my role was to direct Jade and the actress and to prepare the props and the room for filming.
We set up our camera on the tripod and waited for out actress to arrive, luckily she didnt take long and got into her costume as soon as she arrived, we looked over our story boards and realised that some of the shots we planned to do didn't look that good so we improvised on some shots, we also thought that having the camera handheld looked better than using the tripod.
We started filming around 6 pm and we used different angles for each shot so we could have a variation to choose from when editing.
I thought this shoot went extermely well as we spent more time and paid more attention to detail.  The bath scene was very effective and the shots were amazing. When we tried to upload and edit our video we were told that there was something wrong with the camera we were using and we wouldnt be able to use the footage we had filmed. This was a big knock back for our group. We then had to arrange new dates to film and make sure the actors and actressses were available. The post -16 camera were no longer available so we had to use the smaller camera which had less manual effects and less quality.
 We decided we would film again all on the same day as it would be more practical and less time consuming. We used Jade's house and her nan's house which was conveniently next door to each other. We checked with our  actors and actresess that they could make the date and got all of our props ready and this time we all attended the shoot including Jamie.
We were about to film and then my friend Esther who was playing the actress couldnt make it so we had to call Jade's friend last minute. We renamed our film "Ivana" instead of "Esther" as our new actress was called Ivana. This time we knew what we was going to shoot and how to shoot it because we had done it already.  We could now speed up the process and get filming done quicker but had to adapt to the new surroundings.  Certain shots could not be done because of the change in location.
We all took a turn in filming and directing but we didnt get as many shots for each scene as I would have liked to. We finished filming for the murder scene in a couple of hours and then Jamie and the Actor Fabian left because in the getting ready scene Ivana had to be in the bath so we didnt think it was appropriate so I Jade this part of the shoot as it was her friend. 
All together i think if we didnt have to re-shoot, we would have had a better end product. As a group we was more enthusiastic the first time round and the camera malfunction was a major set back.  Considering i had never filmed anything like this before, i was very impressed with my ideas and my unknown skills.
